A circus arts program for youth with disabilities ages 10-21

In December 2006, Circus Juventas launched the Wings program as part of its ongoing programming curriculum.

The Wings program provides a place for young people with disabilities to participate in circus activities that enhance their physical abilities such as balance, coordination and strength-conditioning. In addition, these kids have a place where they can socialize, make friends and just have fun. Nurtured by a staff of world-class coaches from around the globe, each child is encouraged to develop their own unique skill and ability level.

For the first time, these young people had the opportunity to put on their own circus arts performance for their family and friends—a performance complete with music, makeup and ringmaster, on actual circus equipment, to well-deserved standing-ovation applause.

The families of Wings participants have reported that Wings leaves a remarkable imprint on children, helping them become more engaged, outgoing and open to new opportunities. Wings exists to help a child with disabilities realize one dream while instilling the confidence and courage to dream a dozen more possibilities.
