Class descriptions and prerequisites are grouped into the five basic areas of circus arts plus Circus Experience, an introductory class that samples all five.

You can go directly to the class descriptions by clicking on one of the links below.

Classes with the New Students! label have no prerequisites and are open to everyone.  All acts are marked Beginner or Intermediate or Advanced to indicate the level of experience and proficiency required within the specific area of circus arts.  For instance, in the aerial acts, Multiple Trapeze is a beginner act open to all students; Triple Trapeze is an intermediate act, and even level I Triple Trapeze requires a student to already possess intermediate aerial proficiency; Swinging Trapeze is an advanced aerial act that requires a student to possess advanced aerial skills even at level I.

Circus Experience: an introductory class that samples all the circus arts.

Acrobatics: includes jump rope, trampoline, vaulting, teeterboard and adagio.

Aerial: includes trapeze acts, swings, hoops, casting, cradle, and star.

Balance: includes globes, German wheel, bicycle, unicycle, and low and high wire.

Circus Theatre: includes clowning and dance.

Juggling: includes hand and foot juggling.

 An Introduction to the Circus Experience

Circus Connections (CC)

Beginner

A sampling of the circus arts including acrobatics, juggling, aerial, theatre, and balance. Connect with teens and learn the circus arts too. A fun, social and athletic opportunity with a chance to learn a new trick or two. Ages 13-21.  See class schedule.

Circus Experience (CE)

Beginner

A sampling of the circus arts including acrobatics, juggling, aerial, theatre, and balance. A supportive, non-competitive environment fosters confidence and allows students to explore their capablities. Ages 6–21. Classes are divided by age groups.  See class schedule.

Clowning (CL)

Beginner

Clown on a unicycle.
Learn about the funny business! Explore falling, bumbling, comic movement and character work. Advanced levels delve deeper into timing and characters. Ages 7–21.  See class schedule.

Mime: Breathing Life into Your Character (MCL)

Beginner

Bring your characters to life with techniques learned in this class.   Ages 10-21.  See class schedule.

Mime: Interactive Performance (MIP)

Beginner

Why be a mime alone when it can be done in small groups?  While you're at it, why not learn techniques for bringing the audience along too?  Ages 10-21.   See class schedule.

Explore mime-style walks, runs, doors, windows, ropes, walls, and balloons.  Manipulation of props and hat juggling included.  Ages 7-21.  See class schedule.

Pre-Team (PTM)

Designed for 9-15 year-olds who want to cross-train across all five circus genres while exploring intermediate and advanced aerial skills.  See class schedule.

Team (TM)

Team is an invitation-only workout that allows students to concentrate on special show skills and widen their exposure to many different circus arts. Skills covered include acrobatics, acro-hand balance, juggling, teeterboard, and dance.  See class schedule.

Young High Flyers (YHF)

An accelerated class for 6-9 year-olds who havestrong acrobatics skills and a capacity to acquire skills requiring strength and related circus techniques quickly.  See class schedule.
