Summer Show performed in 2001In "Mythos," we fuse the primitive beat of the Taiko drumming of Theatre Mu with the global techno music to conjure the mystical journey from primordial ooze to enlightenment: the Golden Age borne from chaos. Our adventure begins with the Titan Prometheus, as he presents his gift of fire to mankind. Soon after, the ill-fated Pandora looses tragedy upon the world when she opens her box of evil gifts. Then, Eos, the goddess of dawn, ushers in a new day. Follow the Mariners, drawn by the Sirens' call! Surrender, along with Odysseus, entranced by Circe's spell! Venture - If you Dare! - across the River Styx, as the mournful Charon ferries the dead from this world to the next. Look to the heavans as Iris releases the souls. Escape Medusa's stare. But, do not despair! The promise of Hope lies ahead - Pan makes merry while smitten with Selene. And the Muses inspire and delight. So, rejoice! Rejoice! For, just as Gaea gave birth to the sky, the mountains and the sea, our dazzling costumes, daring acrobatics and creative staging give life to these timeless tales! |
